Plano Barron | WORKSHOP
Sinopse:
Abandoned on the coast as skeletons, bunkers are the last theatrical gesture in the history Western military architecture (Virilio, 1975). Technically obsolete, this military territory has fallen into extinction and is now generally forgotten. We present Plan Barron of Defense of Lisbon and Setubal, a mid-twentieth-century set of bunkers, recently declassified and with no heritage classification, as a case study to discuss the future of this heritage facing climate crisis. Can oblivious super-resistant war architecture have an opportunity to a new cycle to fight climate emergency? We present Techno-aesthetic (Simondon, 1992) and Milieu (Georges Teyssot, 2021) concepts.
Present workshop will gather specialists, students and local stakeholders on a common work to understand, debate and propose architectural solutions for the future of this heritage. The works will happen in one of the Batteries: Bataria da Laje, in Oeiras.

Chamo a atenção que, os estudantes que completarem o workshop, receberão um certificado de participação, juntamente com 3 ECTS e a publicação dos projectos num livro que estamos a preparar. Os estudantes serão divididos em grupos de trabalho com mentoring de especialistas.
Os professores também poderão participar directamente nos trabalhos como mentores de grupos de trabalho, numa participação mais próxima. Para isso, podem inscrever-se no link como Professores, estando igualmente associado o valor das despesas do trabalho de uma semana no evento (refeições e viagem ao Plano Barron). Se, por outro lado, preferirem aparecer casualmente para espreitar, será um prazer ter-vos e partilhar convosco um pouco deste trabalho.

Arquitectura: Concepção e Investigação
Sinopse:
Um dos objectivos do seminário consiste em debater dialéticas entre a prática da arquitectura e a investigação em arquitectura, analisando, com base em percursos autorais consolidados, o tipo de relações que se podem estabelecer entre estes dois domínios profissionais. A investigação arquitetónica fundamenta a prática da arquitetura? E, será a prática do projecto uma base de investigação segura? De onde surge a motivação por assuntos a investigar? O património é um factor comum de estímulo? Existem outros factores? Podemos admitir que existem métodos comuns ou métodos adaptados entre a prática da arquitetura e a investigação? De que forma a sociedade e comunidades específicas podem beneficiar com arquitectura fundamentada em resultados obtidos com a investigação independente?
Propomos a apresentação de um conjunto de conferências de autores arquitectos e investigadores com leituras pertinentes e significativas no domínio do conhecimento científico, propostas metodológicas heterogéneas e relações de disseminação abrangentes e distintivas.
Architecture: Design and Research
Synopsis:
One of the objectives for this Architecture: Design and Research Seminar is to debate the dialectics between the practice of architecture and research in architecture, analyzing, based on consolidated author paths, the type of relationships that can be established between these two professional domains. Does architectural research support the practice of architecture? And, is the project’s practice a safe research base? Where does the motivation for investigating issues come from? Is heritage a common stimulus factor? Are there other factors? Can we admit that there are common methods or methods adapted between the practice of architecture and research?
We propose the presentation of a set of conferences held by architects and researchers with relevant and significant readings in the field of scientific knowledge, heterogeneous methodological proposals and wide and distinctive dissemination relationships.
CALL FOR PAPERS
arquitecturas is the main revue of architec- ture of Lusófona university. It is conceived as a platform for convergence of discussion about architecture from three principal fields: research, education, and profession works. The ambition of the journal is to put together those who learn, teach, investigate, or practice architecture in the same contemporary debates about living spaces. The journal has 3 principal parts; the firstis a dedicated for classical long and structured peer-reviewed papers, the second one is reserved for short and peer-reviewed papers of students or technical notes, abstracts of recent Ph.D theses and publication of educational works like workshop results, charettes etc. The third part publishes the projects and works of architects as well as sections of interviews or editorial contributions.
